Poinsettia Petals for Christmas

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s November Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. This month’s projects celebrate Christmas, which – believe it or not – is just around the corner. Please prepare yourself for lots of beautiful projects that share the joy of this holiday. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I CASE’d today’s project from page 44 of the Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalog. CASE can mean one of two things “Copy And Steal Everything” or “Copy And Selectively Edit” – I opted for the 2nd version, the top right card in the photo below was my inspiration.

How I made it:

Cut and Score with your Paper Trimmer:

  • Real Red – 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″ on the long side
  • Poinsettia Place DSP – 4″ x 5.25″

Die Cut Using Poinsettia Dies:

  • A Poinsettia from the Plush Poinsettia Specialty DSP
    • Use a wedge of a Stamping Sponge to color the Plush Poinsettia Real Red
  • 3 Poinsettia Leaves from Old Olive cardstock
  • 3 Sprigs from Gold Foil Paper

Stamp Using Poinsettia Petals:

  • “Happy Holidays” in Soft Suede on Crumb Cake DSP
  • Punch this sentiment using the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch

Assemble the Card:

  • Fold your scored Real Red card base at the 4.25” score line and burnish with your bone folder
  • Adhere the Poinsettia Petals DSP to the card front
  • Adhere a 9″ piece of Real Red Sheer Ribbon to the front of the card, in a zig-zag pattern
  • Using a single Stampin’ Dimensional, adhere the colored Plush Poinsettia to the center of the card
  • Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere the Poinsettia leaves and sprigs to the card, sliding them under the “popped” Plush Poinsettia
  • Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere the “Happy Holidays” Crumb Cake sentiment
  • Finally, adhere a Beaded Pearl to the center of the Plush Poinsettia
